Mr. Blum has experience in all aspects of intellectual property including patent, trademark, copyright, and computer law. His practice focuses on the procurement and enforcement of intellectual property rights, the preparation of patent infringement and validity opinions, and client counseling on intellectual property matters, as well as substantial experience in trademark and copyright procurement and enforcement. He advises clients on the IP aspects of corporate transactions and e-commerce and negotiates the transfer of intellectual property rights. He has assisted clients regarding patent portfolio development, patent clearance searches, negotiating and drafting IP license agreements, and rendering trademark and copyright advice. He has assisted in all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including pre-trial discovery, motion practice, taking and defending depositions, working with experts to prepare reports, preparing witnesses for trial, and trial preparation and support.
Areas of technology include mechanical, electro-mechanical, wireless technologies such as CDMA and TDMA, encryption, microcontrollers, digital and analog circuits, spinal implants, medical instruments, medical imaging devices, materials engineering, semiconductor manufacture and related materials and processes, chemical engineering, image processing, chemical formulations, business methods and financial systems, computer and information technologies, and computer hardware and software.
